The CS610 Converter Sheeter unwinds substrate from a finished roll, slits the roll into the desired widths, and then cuts the material into the desired length. It is configured with an unwind station, slitting module, and cutoff/sheeting section working as a continuous process.
The unwind station is configured with a single 3-inch cantilevered, air expanding, unwind shaft. Rotation speed and tension are regulated with a disc brake, PLC, and a load cell to maintain constant web tension. A safety laser intrusion sensor is located below the unwind, near the floor.
The CS610 Converter Sheeter slitting station consists of a rotary knife/anvil module with twelve score-knife assemblies mounted on a dovetail bar for manual adjustment of the cut width. The substrate is pulled off the unwind and through the slitting module using two urethane covered power rollers compressing the material between the two rolls.
The cutoff/sheeter station has a nip drive that pulls substrate through a linear shear knife bar set to the desired length. The knife is electronically/cam actuated to cut the material. The cut substrate is fed onto a catch table, adjustable from 0”-24” in width. This catch table will trap the material on both sides to aid in the stacking of a narrow width substrate.
The CS610 Converter Sheeter is equipped with a power panel lighted touchscreen/CPU with four basic screens required for the setup and operation of the machine.
