A5615 Automatic Double-side Cope & Stick System
The Voorwood A5615 Automatic Double-Side Cope & Stick System will process stiles and rails without operator input.
RAIL PROCESSING: Substrates are hopper-fed random-length parts. The machine automatically measures the rail substrate and selects the desired finished length without any operator input or downloaded cut list. The rail is placed in the dual timed cartridges with self-locating backer blocks that eliminate blowout for cope shaping, processes both cope cuts at the same time, and ensures a square part sized to the desired length. The rail is placed on a conveyor in the back of the machine after the cope shaping process and redirected 90 degrees. The power feeder aligns part into the next stage to stick cut the rail, size to width, and automatically insert space balls.
The velocity and position of both carriages are timed through the use of servo motors. The carriages are automatically positioned to secure the part on both ends next to the cutting process. The carriages transport the substrate through the shapers, releasing the part on the other side, and return for the next part.
After the cope shaping process, parts are released onto a conveyor that indexes multiple parts toward the Stile & Rail Shaper. The power feeder redirects parts 90 degrees, the shaper stick cuts the inside edges on the rail. This is the only machine in the market with the capability of shaping small parts. The optional ball inserter will automatically insert space balls within 1″ of specified distances from the leading and lagging edge of the board and will automatically adjust for different lengths of boards.
STILE PROCESSING: The separate hopper feed assembly allows running only stiles. The hopper clamps the stack of boards while the bottom board is driven into the machine. Once the board has left the hopper, the clamps release letting the boards drop straight down, allowing random length parts to be stacked in the hopper. The conveyor transports parts toward the Stile & Rail Shaper. The power feeder redirects parts 90 degrees, the shaper stick cuts the inside edges of the rail. This is the only machine on the market with the capability of shaping small parts.
